Biography:
Mimi Sadler Principal Sadler & Whitehead Architects, PLC Richmond, VA Mimi Sadler is an historical architect and principal with Sadler & Whitehead Architects, PLC, a small business formed in 1997 with her husband Camden Whitehead. Ms. Sadler's career has focused on historic preservation and adaptive reuse projects. She worked eight years as Senior Architect with the Virginia Department of Historic Resources. Her firm develops historic tax credit packages, National Register nominations and alternative treatment reports for private and public entities. She helps property owners to identify significant features of their historic properties and to develop treatment plans. Her project experience includes consultation on the expansions of Washington Dulles International and Regan National Airports (1989-1995) and renovations to the Colonial Williamsburg Lodge and Spa (2005-2008). In 2011 Sadler & Whitehead completed two, three-year contracts for providing historic preservation consultation to Naval Facilities Mid Atlantic for projects in Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, North Carolina, and Puerto Rico. Ms. Sadler received her undergraduate degree in art history from Williams College in 1977 and a Masters Degree in Architecture from the University of Virginia in 1981. She chairs the City of Richmond’s Commission of Architectural Review and serves on the Board of the Storefront for Community Design, a nonprofit design center.
