Peter Stuart
Biography: Peter Stuart specializes in investment strategy and operations, having deployed equity into more than $200 million worth of real estate in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area over the course of his career. He’s the managing partner and Chief Investment Officer at outlier Realty Capital, where he oversees a growing team and innovative value-add multi-family and opportunistic development strategies. Peter’s work is grounded in a core belief that real estate investment can do more than generate great returns: It can solve complex problems and positively impact communities. Prior to co-founding outlier, Peter served on the investment team at Neighborhood Development Company, a Washington, D.C. based development company with a 20+ year track record. Before that, Peter worked with several partners on private development of single family homes and small multi-family properties. In addition to his real estate activities Peter helped found DC Entrepreneurship Week, and has actively advised a number of startups. Peter is also active in several non-profit organizations and serves on the entrepreneurship board of Venture for America (http://ventureforamerica.org/), a program for young, talented university graduates to spend two years in the trenches of a start-up. He served as a Director of Progress Through Business, a non-profit based out of the Center on Business and Poverty at the University of Wisconsin at Madison's Puelicher Business School, from 2008 to 2012. Peter is a member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and is the co-chair of member engagement. Peter holds a B.A. from Drew University.
