Ryan Schemmel is the co-founder of Fort Houston, a 10k sq ft maker space in Nashville, TN. Ryan spends most of his time connecting makers, artists, and artisans with job opportunities via his facility which houses numerous small businesses utilizing shop space, tools, and equipment. Ryan and his team just launched their newest non profit initiative, the Fort Houston Artisan Support Project, to help further those connections. Over the last 8 years of running Fort Houston, Ryan's focuses within the organization have been educating the public, government, and business community on why makers matter and how they contribute to local economies.
