Formerly president of Alternative Living for the Aging and VP of the Menorah Housing Fdn. Safran is president of Thomas Safran & Associates, developers and managers of affordable multi-family housing. HIs firm specializes in both family and senior citizen low-rent housing developments. Prior to establishing his own company in 1974, Safran held various positions with the Los Angeles area, Chcago regional, and Washington, D.C., central offices of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Safran is a member of the National Association of Home Builders, the Urban Land Institute, the National Housing Coalition, NAHRO, and the National Leased Housing Association, of which he is a former member of the board. He is also a member of Los Angeles Beautiful and a founder of the Museum of Contermporary Art and th e Music Center. Safran is a past presdient of Alternative Living for the Aging and vice president of the Menorah Housing Foundation.
