Marq Truscott

Biography: Marq has practiced landscape architecture for over 40 years and is licensed in the states of California, Wisconsin, and Nevada. He is a volunteer leader, and in those capacities educates key decision makers on the value of good design. In 2019 Marq completed a two-year term as Chair of Urban Land Institute - Sacramento. He also shares his expert insight to students, emerging professionals, and colleagues alike, and lectures within the landscape architecture program at University of California, Davis. Active in the community, Marq has served on various performing and visual arts boards, Community Advisory Panels, Parks and Recreation Commissions and Planning Commissions. Marq thrives on complicated projects that are highly political. He is comfortable speaking within board rooms or in front of hundreds of concerned neighbors. Marq enjoys the collaborative processes involved with integrated project delivery methods, and believes that a successful project is elegantly designed, highly constructible, and looks great ten years later.
