Mary Vasys
Biography: Mary White Vasys Chicago, Illinois Vasys is President of Vasys Consulting Ltd which specializes in providing innovative financial strategies, program design and implementation, and management consulting services to foundations, not-for-profits, affordable housing developers, and financial services organizations. The company works with national institutions and locally based organizations to create and implement capital investment strategies and community-focused programs that achieve both economic returns and community objectives. Recent assignments completed by the firm include work for The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation to design and implement a program-related investment program for the preservation of affordable housing and work for the Illinois Facilities Fund to develop and implement a long-term strategic plan to expand its business and create new product lines. Vasys has more than twenty-five years experience in banking, real estate development and community affairs. Vasys began her banking career in 1976 as a commercial and real estate lender at a major Chicago financial institution. In 1984 she joined a diversified Chicago-based real estate development company where she served as its director of development for six years. Prior to joining Bank of America's community development banking group in 1991, she worked at a Chicago-based commercial real estate investment firm for two years where she led its asset management services division. She received a Certificate in Liberal Arts from University of Chicago Graham School of Continuing Education, a Masters Degree in Business Administration from DePaul University and a Bachelors Degree in Applied Arts from Central Michigan University.
