Mathew Wyman
Biography: Mathew A. Wyman is a partner with the law firm of Cox, Castle & Nicholson LLP. Mr. Wyman’s practice centers on the areas of acquisition and disposition, joint venture, partnership, entity and project level finance, workout, and merger and acquisition transactions. In 1999, California Law Business named Mr. Wyman to the "Top 20 Lawyers for the Future." He has represented developers, pension funds, foreign and domestic investors and other institutional clients in such transactions involving all real estate product types. He also serves in the capacity as general counsel for both public and privately held clients. Mr. Wyman is an active member of many professional organizations and trade groups, including the Urban Land Institute where he serves as a member of the Urban Development Mixed Use Council, the Belden Group, National Association of Home Builders, Building Industry Association, Century City Real Property Committee, Beverly Hills Bar Association, Century City Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the State Bar of California. Mr. Wyman also serves as a Board Member on the City of Hope Construction Industries Committee. He has written numerous articles and lectured on such topics as residential, resort, office and retail joint ventures, hotel management agreements, new sources of capital, and related real estate topics. In addition, Mr. Wyman serves each year as the moderator for the annual Meet the Money Conference at PCBC. His recent publications include "The Emerging Real Estate Development Alliance REITS, Developers and Investors" in Real Estate Forum, "The Partnership Vehicle in Retail Joint Ventures" in the Real Property Law Reporter, and "Affordable Housing: Opportunities Worthy of Consideration" in Pension World.
