Wendy Waters

Biography: Wendy Waters is the Vice President Research Services & Strategy at GWL Realty Advisors (GWLRA), an institutional real estate manager with over $12 Billion in assets under management in Canada and another $4 Billion in the US under the brand EverWest. The company specializes in office, multi-residential rental, industrial and retail asset types and both develops and manages properties in a vertically integrated business model. Based in Vancouver, Wendy leads the company's research function which is part of the Portfolio Management and Client Services division. During Covid-19 times, a key focus has been on the future of office space as the pandemic has illuminated and accelerated trends underway that were already impacting the business. GWLRA is using this research to evolve the portfolio strategy around office. Other 2020 initiatives have included incorporating a climate resilience lens into portfolio strategy as well as applying research to rental apartment development designs. Wendy has been a full member of ULI since 2014 and serves as the Chair of Mission Advancement for the ULI British Columbia chapter. She frequently speaks on panels and in the media on topics related to real estate performance and strategy.
