Memphis Tennessee 10 Minute Walk Study Visit Report
Report Summary:

From January 29-31, 2020, ULI convened a group of national and local experts in Memphis, Tennessee, to advise the Memphis Division of Parks and Neighborhoods on using existing parks to improve community and economic development and community cohesion.

Looking at a small system of seven parks in South Memphis, the experts were asked to consider:

  1. What is the role of parks in fostering health, community development, and economic opportunity?
  2. How might a connected network of parks benefit the South Memphis community and
  3. What are relevant strategies to maintain, operate, and program neighborhood parks that are cost effective and community serving?
