In the regional context, the East Shore can use its existing housing stock and potential redevelopment opportunities as a competitive advantage because of the existing infrastructure. The recommended vision and strategy requires a new and advanced level of organization of strategic land acquisition, layered & complex funding options, inter-jurisdictional planning and regulatory framework, development of land inventory & data bases, and dedicated marketing of the region. The panel explored the stages of economy production, industrial opportunities, river access & amenities, challenges in the housing market and infrastructure through the recommendations of the East Shore Economic Development Council.
