Webinar Summary:
Guided by the ULI Curtis Infrastructure Initiative’s Prioritizing Effective Infrastructure-Led Development publication, the Infrastructure and Land Use Exchange is a regularly scheduled forum to promote the most innovative and/or effective best practices for forward looking infrastructure investment. Meetings serve as an opportunity to share and exchange ideas with a presentation on an infrastructure topic and a conversation between attendees. This meeting will discuss the concept of restorative development to address the legacy infrastructure investment that has disproportionally impacted people of color—particularly those that are Black. The conversation will begin with a presentation from Joshua McCarty showing how data can be visualized to tell the financial story of infrastructure investment decision making. Then, he will be joined by Keith Baker who is working to reconnect the divided Rondo neighborhood by capping I-94. ReConnect Rondo has developed metrics to inform how this new investment can restore past harm while creating better outcomes.
