Biografía:
Weyerhaeuser is the largest private land owner in the world, with over 13 million acres of timberlands in the continental US and an additional tenure on 14 million acres in Canada. In his current position Mr. Cole is responsible for real estate development activities in the western United States and British Columbia, Canada. Most recently he lead the company’s strategic efforts related to identifying alternative use outcomes across all of Weyerhaeuser’s holdings in North America. Prior to joining Weyerhaeuser (by merger with Plum Creek) Mr. Cole was engaged in private architectural practice where he specialized in land and development master planning. His portfolio of projects include community planning, business aviation facilities, custom residential, resort & golf courses, retail and commercial projects, as well as corporate headquarters and buildings for companies such as Microsoft, Weyerhaeuser, ESRI, Nordstrom, AT&T, IBM, and Boeing. Mr. Cole earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Washington State University and makes his home in the Skagit Valley region of the State of Washington. In addition to two Architectural degrees earned at Washington State University, Mr. Cole studied at Copenhagen University and has continued his education with courses at Harvard University and through industry and trade association participation. An accredited member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, Mr. Cole is a licensed architect in both Washington state and British Columbia, Canada, and has held architecture licenses in Colorado, Oregon, Texas, Kansas, and North Carolina. He has served on the board of directors of the Green Building Initiative (GBI.org) a non-profit organization providing environmental assessment and certification planning tools, and currently serves as vice-chair of Urban Land Institute's Community Development Council.
