Biografía:
Jim Ketai is managing partner and CEO of Bedrock, a full-service real estate firm specializing in acquiring, leasing, financing, developing and managing commercial and residential space. Ketai has led Bedrock’s efforts to revitalize dozens of Detroit’s historic properties including the Madison Building, Chrysler House, the First National Building and many others. As a result, the company has attracted more than 250 new businesses to Detroit from Fortune 500 companies like Ally Financial and Fifth Third Bank to international retailers Nike and John Varvatos. Since purchasing its first building in 2011, Bedrock’s portfolio has grown to more than 100 properties, totaling more than 16 million square feet of real estate in Detroit’s Central Business District and downtown Cleveland. Bedrock employs more than 400 team members in Detroit’s urban core where it manages office space for more than 17,000 team members who are part of Dan Gilbert’s family of companies. To date, Bedrock and its affiliates have invested $2.2 billion in downtown Detroit. Before forming Bedrock, Ketai was managing partner of Etkin Equities for 21 years and led the development and management of more than 8 million square feet of owned commercial real estate holdings. Ketai serves on the board of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, its capital needs committee, and executive committee for security. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and recently served as chairman of its small scale development council. Jim chairs Yad Ezra’s annual fundraising dinner and leads the mentor program for Federation’s Israel and Overseas Young Leadership Couples Group. He is also a member of the University of Michigan Greater Detroit Leadership Council and a board member of Forgotten Harvest and the Oakland County Sheriff’s advisory board.
