Biografía:
Chris Maher Bio September 2018 Chris is Vice President of Development for Delaware North Companies – Boston owner and operator of TD Garden, home of the Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics. Since 1995, Chris has worked for Delaware North beginning as Vice President of Operations for TD Garden, formerly FleetCenter, as part of the team that commissioned and opened the new arena in 1995. In this role he was also Delaware North’s representative throughout the construction of the Big Dig and the MBTA North Station Improvement Project. Both projects had a significant impact on TD Garden’s operations and fan experience. He served on the North Area Planning Initiative that was instrumental in the urban planning process for the Bulfinch Triangle area providing Chris with a thorough understanding and appreciation of the dynamics of the downtown north district. Chris’ major responsibility for Delaware North is the master planning and development of Delaware North’s real estate holdings in Boston which include the former Boston Garden site on Causeway Street and an air rights parcel on Nashua Street. As part of the overall real estate strategy in Boston, Chris headed up the team that ultimately sold the Nashua Street parcel to Avalon Bay in 2013. Avalon completed construction of a high rise apartment building with 503 homes in late 2016. Chris was instrumental in the formation of a joint venture partnership with Boston Properties for development of the former Boston Garden site. He represented Delaware North in the entitlement and design process. The project is now under construction and Chris continues in his role of managing Delaware North’s interest in the joint venture. The project is a 1.6 million square foot mixed use development that includes expansion of the North Station Garage, retail and loft office Podium building along with three towers housing 440 residential building, 269 key hotel and 550,000 square foot office tower. Chris also managed several projects that have had a positive impact on North Station area including the construction of the expanded concourse in North Station, the demolition of the Boston Garden and the planning and permitting of Nashua Street Residences. He is managed the team that acquired the North Station Garage from the MBTA. Prior to working for Delaware North, Chris was Director of Operations for World Trade Center Boston and prior to that was in the shopping center industry managing several regional malls around the country. He serves as a member of the Board of Downtown North Association, member of the Bulfinch Triangle Area Planning Committee and sits on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of A Better City.
