Biographie :
Jim Borders is President and CEO of Novare Group, a real estate investment and development company based in Atlanta, Georgia that he founded in 1992 and which has invested in or developed self-storage facilities, office buildings, adaptive re-use projects, including The Biltmore in Midtown Atlanta, and high rise-apartments and condominiums. In 2002, the company partnered with Wood Partners to deliver its first high-rise development, Metropolis, which has been widely credited with sparking residential demand that helped transform Midtown Atlanta into the vibrant neighborhood that it is today. The company has continued to focus its activity on high-rise mixed-use communities and developed over 12,900 multifamily units in 39 high-rise buildings in Atlanta, Denver, Nashville, Charlotte, Raleigh, Orlando, Tampa, Austin, Houston, and Dallas. Borders serves on the board of directors of Brand Properties, LLC, Buckhead Coalition, Midtown Alliance, Central Atlanta Progress, Georgia Advanced Technology Ventures, LLC, Tanner Hospital Foundation, and as a trustee of the Georgia Tech Foundation, Inc. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and National Multifamily Housing Council. He has been recognized with lifetime achievement awards from the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors in 2000, Georgia State University J. Mack Robinson School of Business in 2006, and the Urban Land Institute in 2015. Under Borders’ leadership, Novare Group has been recognized with two ULI Project of the Year Awards and three Projects of Excellence.
