Biographie : JOHN P. FITZGERALD Vice Chairman, Greater Bay Urban Regeneration Fund Kaisa Financial Group, LTD. Hong Kong, S.A.R. John is a senior executive and thought leader, with more than twenty-years of experience, in the real estate industry. He is passionate about the built environment and its impact on quality of life and communities. His expertise centers on ‘the business case’ for responsible development and enabling cross-border, global, exchange. John joined Kaisa Group Holdings LTD, a Hong Kong listed real estate and financial group, July 2020. He serves as Vice Chairman of Greater Bay Area Investmnet Fund Limited. In this role, he leads a team to launch an investment platform, offering global investors the opportunity to invest in the sustainable urbanization of major Chinese cities. He serves as a member of the Group’s senior management team, with his focus on fund formation, investor relations, brand building, thought leadership, and strategic partnerships. Prior to joining Kaisa, John served, for 13 years, as Founding CEO-Asia Pacific for the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the property industry’s premier global think tank and strategic advisory group. He served on the Global C-Suite Executive Team, the Global Board of Directors, and the Asia Pacific Executive Committee. John was responsible for launching the Asia Pacific business in 2007 and leading the region’s strategy, core initiatives, and business operations through June 2020. In this role, John engaged and advised global leaders in business and government on complex land-use, investment, and economic development issues. Key area of focus; investment & development, capital markets, planning & design, sustainability & resilience, technology & innovation, advisory services. John is an acknowledged thought leader and spokesperson on urban development, land-use, real estate investment, and urban innovation. He has represented the industry with major media outlets, such as, CNBC, Channel News Asia, SCMP, Wall Street Journal, Straits Times, and more. He is also a frequent speaker at major industry events, globally. Before relocating to Hong Kong, in 2007, John was with ULI in Washington, D.C., from 1998. He served as director of ULI Convenings and launched ULI global initiatives in Europe and Asia Pacific. Prior to joining ULI in 1998, John was Executive Director for Envision EMI, a strategic consulting firm in Washington, DC. From 1988-1992, John attended Saint Anselm College, in Manchester, NH, USA, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, minoring in International Business. John was captain of the Saint Anselm College lacrosse team in 1992.
