Biographie : Michael H. Richmond President and Chief Operating Officer The Woodlands Operating Company, L.P. Michael H. Richmond is President and Chief Operating Officer of The Woodlands Operating Company, L.P., the developer of The Woodlands, a 25,000 acre master planned community north of Houston, Texas. The Woodlands Operating Company was the new name assigned to The Woodlands Corporation after Mitchell Energy & Development Corporation sold the company to a partnership formed by Morgan Stanley and Crescent Real Estate Equities, Inc. Richmond's primary responsibilities include the day to day operations of commercial/industrial development, investment properties, hospitality, residential, and land development. Richmond has served in various positions at The Woodlands Corporation since 1972. He was formerly Executive Vice President of The Woodlands Corporation and President of Mitchell Mortgage Company and The Woodlands Venture Capital Company. Recent projects include development of a Regional Mall, The Woodlands Research Forest, community shopping and entertainment facilities, office buildings, apartments, conference facilities, and planning for the proposed Woodlands Waterway, a 11/2 mile waterfront development similar to the San Antonio River Walk. Michael Richmond was previously associated with the public accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand in Baltimore. His community activities include serving as past chairman of the North Houston Association and on the boards of the Greenspoint Club, Houston Golf Association, Houston Real Estate Forum, Houston Regional Mobility Association, Mitchell Mortgage Company, Stewart Title Company of Montgomery County, The Woodlands Community Hospital and the Town Center Improvement District. Mr. Richmond is a full member and active in the ULI-the Urban Land Institute.
