Chun Wah Fong

バイオグラフィー:
Mr Fong Chun Wah is currently HDB’s Senior Advisor, after retiring from his role as HDB’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Building) [DCEO(B)]. As Senior Advisor, Mr Fong advises HDB in the planning and design, development and upgrading of HDB towns and estates. He also advises on the implementation of initiatives supporting sustainability in public housing developments, housing and facilities to support seniors in Singapore. In Mr Fong’s former role as DCEO(B), he effectively guided the Building Groups to deliver well on the building and upgrading programmes and achieve greater excellence in the planning, design, quality and construction productivity of HDB flats and estates. He also oversaw the smooth implementation of upgrading programmes, and drove HDB’s efforts in advancing R&D and the adoption of innovative solutions for sustainable living. Mr Fong joined HDB in 1980 as an Architect, after graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture (Honours) from the University of Singapore. He was awarded the HDB overseas postgraduate scholarship and attained his Master of City Planning and Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania in 1986. Mr Fong practised as an architect in the Architectural Department, and held various positions in the Research and Planning Department before he was appointed Director (Building Quality) from Jan 08 to Aug 09 where he oversaw the management of HDB’s construction projects. Thereafter he was Group Director (Development & Procurement) [GDDP] overseeing the design, development and rejuvenation of public housing, procurement and management of consultancy, and management of building contracts to deliver sustainable and community-centric designs in public housing developments.
