April Anderson

Biography:
April Anderson is President of Anderson Strategic Advisors, an economic development consulting firm specializing in real estate development, economic development strategy, and government programs. Anderson assists private and public sector clients with real estate entitlements and infrastructure financing, government incentives, and economic development policy and planning. April has spent her career working to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of private sector interactions with state and local governments. She spent more than fifteen years working in state government and has held senior economic development positions within the Administrations of Massachusetts Governors Deval Patrick and Mitt Romney, including Assistant Secretary for Economic Development, State Permit Ombudsman, and Chief of Staff for Business Development. She also worked in economic development policy for the Massachusetts House and Senate. She has extensive experience navigating federal, state and local government regulations, with particular expertise in land use and development. April is active in economic development and land use related advocacy groups and trade associations including the Urban Land Institute (ULI), National Association of Industrial Office Properties (NAIOP), and International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). She currently chairs the ICSC Infrastructure Task Force that is charged with developing federal public infrastructure investment strategies and permitting best practices that target economic development outcomes. April frequently sits as an expert panelist on ULI Advisory Services Panels throughout the United States and was recognized as a “Rising Star” for Advisory Services in 2016. She is also active in her community of Milton, MA where she serves as Chair of the Planning Board member, elected Town Meeting Member, and a member of the Capital Improvement Committee.
