Housing stability and community development is the foundation to attaching people and commerce. In the regional context, the East Shore can use its existing housing stock and potential redevelopment opportunities as a competitive advantage because of the existing infrastructure. The recommended vision and strategy requires a new and advanced level of organization of strategic land acquisition, layered & complex funding options, inter-jurisdictional planning and regulatory framework, development of land inventory & data bases, and dedicated marketing of the region. The panel explored the stages of economy production, industrial opportunities, river access & amenities, challenges in the housing market and infrastructure through the recommendations of the East Shore Economic Development Council.
