John Hempelmann

传：John Hempelmann is one of the founding partners of Cairncross & Hempelmann, a full service Seattle law firm. He is the Past Chair and the current Assistant Chair of the ULI National Transit Oriented Development Council. John has over 40 years of experience and is recognized as one of the premier land use, natural resources and real estate development attorneys in the state of Washington. He has worked extensively to help form the legislation that governs Washington’s land use law. John focuses on helping clients develop and build walkable urban communities connected to high capacity transit. He is on the National Steering Committee of LOCUS, a national coalition of real estate developers and investors who advocate for sustainable, equitable, walkable urban places. John has been involved in many innovative projects, including landmark commercial, mixed-use, hotel, residential and institutional urban developments; major open space, conservation and TDR transactions in Washington and Maine and development of Suncadia (Washington’s first master planned resort). John is listed in Best Lawyers in America for Land Use & Zoning and Real Estate Litigation and was its 2018 Top Lawyer for Real Estate Litigation in Washington.
