RICHARD Y. PACE, AIA Richard Pace is a registered architect, he received his architectural degree from the University of Michigan in 1979. After graduating he worked for Dalton van Dijk Johnson Architects, which later became van Dijk Pace Westlake Architects when he became Managing Partner in 1992. Under his management the firm revenues increased from $4 million to $18 million annually. At the end of 2001, Pace sold his ownership to his Partners and founded Cumberland Development, LLC. He controls 100% of the ownership of the company. Cumberland owns and manages the Cleveland Clinic Business Operations Center in Independence, Ohio. Cumberland also owns and manages the Baker Electric Building in Cleveland, which is a tech incubator. And Cumberland manages a master lease for the historic shopping arcades in downtown Cleveland known as the 5th Street Arcades, which are retail incubators. In early 2014, the City of Cleveland selected Cumberland Development as the developer of Cleveland's Lakefront. The development will create a vibrant mixed use neighborhood, including corporate office space, retail space, over 600 residential units and a school. The development is anchored by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Great Lakes Science Center and Cleveland Browns Stadium. The initial phases are complete and the final phase will begin construction in the summer of 2019. Dick lives in Cleveland with his wife, Cheri. He has a son, Alex and a daughter, Catherine.
