An entrepreneur and an early carbon credit business owner with over 25 years of experience building programs in developing countries for emergency relief and long-term sustainability. His expertise is large-scale project management in developing countries and leveraging markets and technology for the greater good. He currently runs Futures Inc. out of Japan with a team of over 20 people. Futures Inc. Japan business works on advising large listed Japanese companies on decarbonization. Futures Inc. International arm does carbon offset projects in emerging markets with current focus on Philippines, Bangladesh, Malawi, and Zimbabwe. He was with the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) for 21 years, living and working in Cambodia, North Korea, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Panama, etc. He spent his last five years at the WFP in Rome HQ as senior member of $ 4.5 billion per year supply chain unit. Prior to that, he held posts such as Dy. Country Director and Head of Program across Sudan, North Korea, etc. managing between 100 to 400 people, and serving between 2-6 million people in each country. Mack also ran his own carbon offset business out of New York (2011-2012), developing an iPhone app that allowed Americans to offset their carbon footprint while paying women in Mongolia and Bangladesh to make fuel-efficient cookstoves.
