In the summer of 2022, five ULI district councils—ULI Colorado, ULI Los Angeles, ULI New York, ULI Louisiana, and ULI Philadelphia—began a long-term effort to tackle land use, equity, and climate resilience issues through the second Resilient Land Use Cohort (RLUC). RLUC is a network of ULI district councils, member experts, and community partners in cities across the United States working together to identify strategies to be more resilient in the face of climate change and other vulnerabilities, including floods, extreme storms, drought, wildfire, and extreme heat, as well as the related social, environmental, and economic impacts. This report provides a summary of the second Resilient Land Use Cohort’s work and impact from 2022-2024, featuring efforts to tackle land use, equity, and climate resilience issues across the United States. Funding for the cohort was provided through the ULI Foundation with support from JPMorgan Chase.
