Biography:
Don Bauer Bauer Planning & Environmental Service, Inc. Irvine, CA Bauer is owner and founder of Bauer Planning & Environmental Services. With over 32 years of experience in urban and regional planning, he has expertise in strategic planning, economics, and design for new communities and large-scale development programs. His emphasis on the quality of life, environmental integrity, and long-term economic value and return of new developments has resulted in a number of national and international projects. Bauer’s experience includes residential villages and commercial complexes for The Irvine Company; large mixed-use projects in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Dallas, Orlando, and Denver; new towns such as The Woodlands, Texas; and resort communities including Ventana Canyon in Tucson and the Cojo-Jalama Ranch in Santa Barbara. His international work includes projects in Indonesia; the summer national capital of Saudi Arabia; the new national capital of Nigeria; Colombia; China; Kao Shung, Taiwan; and the Bahamas. Bauer is a member of the American Planning Association. Between 1992 and 1996, he was ULI District Council coordinator for Orange County, California. Bauer studied sculpture and architecture at the University of Oregon and participated in an exchange program at the University of Florence, Italy. He is a frequent university guest lecturer.
