Robert Dunphy
Biography: Robert Dunphy is an author, teacher and transportation consultant specializing in transportation solutions that sustain urban places, and the politics of growth. He is widely published and recognized for his work advancing research on smart growth and transit oriented development, parking, and transportation policy. Dunphy has advised numerous communities on practical transportation solutions to challenging development issues. Examples include case studies of exemplary cities for US transit finance models, regional visioning, and sustainable suburbs, and development recommendations for suburban transit stations, as well as an evaluation of the impacts of the federal stimulus program on transportation projects in Florida. He teaches and advises senior level students in the graduate real estate program of Georgetown University, and is active in national transportation research organizations. Dunphy is an Emeritus fellow with the Urban Land Institute, where he served as a senior fellow and transportation director.
