Charley Freericks
Biography: Charley Freericks is the President of the Phoenix Region for Howard Hughes. He is responsible for leading the residential and commercial development, leasing, and operations of Teravalis, Howard Hughes’ new 37,000-acre master planned community located in the Phoenix West Valley. Charley joined Howard Hughes in 2024. He is an industry veteran with more than 40 years of experience in large-scale community development throughout Arizona – including acquisition, entitlement, planning and design, implementation, and operations with an emphasis on commercial and mixed-use environments. Prior to joining Howard Hughes, Charley served as Senior Vice President at Catellus Development Corporation, the master developer of the Novus Innovation Corridor, a 355-acre redevelopment of Arizona State University’s Athletic Facilities District. Before that, he served as an executive at DMB Associates, the Scottsdale-based developer of large-scale, best-in-class planned communities and mixed-use commercial properties. Charley is an active contributor to numerous non-profit organizations currently serving on the board of the Arizona Community Foundation. He is past chairman of Valley Partnership, Arizona Advisory Board of the Trust for Public Land, and chairman emeritus of Fighter Country Partnership and Fighter Country Foundation supporting Luke Air Force Base. He remains an active member at the local and national level for Urban Land Institute and previously served as the Arizona District Chair. Charley graduated with a bachelor’s degree in general business and an MBA from Arizona State University.
