Biography: Emmanuel FRANCOIS ULI, Urban Practices, EnOcean GmbH At 62, for Emmanuel FRANCOIS, the Smart Building and more broadly the smart city has always been at the center of his professional activity. To this end, in 2012 he founded the Smart Buildings Alliance for Smart Cities (SBA) which he chaired until July 2022 in order to constitute a virtuous ecosystem around the challenges of the environmental transition of buildings and cities while relying on digital tools. He now continues his Smart Building promotion activity within the ULI France organization as Chair of the Product Council Technology & Real Estate as well as within Urban Practices as Senior Advisor. To bring these changes into a global vision of society, he advocates the 3rd urban revolution. Aware of the importance of digital technology in responding to today's major societal challenges, he is now focusing his action on data governance. Emmanuel FRANCOIS also manages Western Europe for EnOcean GmbH, which carries a key technology for the IoT because it is wireless and battery-free, allowing buildings to be instrumented in a non-intrusive and completely sustainable way.
