Biography:
Antonio Garate, AIA, LEED AP is responsible for managing the finance, design, construction and legal teams as well as collaborating with external partners and community stakeholders for McCormack Baron Salazar development work in Puerto Rico. He works to leverage public, private and philanthropic resources to develop comprehensive, large-scale, mixed-income and mixed-finance communities in low- and moderate-income neighborhoods, creating a new paradigm for renters on the island. Mr. Garate has over 20 years of experience in commercial, residential, institutional and industrial design, development and construction management. He currently serves as the Senior Project Executive over four new mixed-finance developments in the cities of San Juan and Caguas that total in excess of $190 million in development costs and include over 750 mixed-income multifamily units and 25,000 square feet of commercial space.
