Tara Green

Biography:
As Principal of Public Realm Strategies, Tara works with designers, consultants, clients, and communities on project programming, governance and staffing, and budgeting. Her ability to build support for activation and self-sustaining operations has been pivotal to the success of several of OJB’s major urban parks, university campuses, and mixed-use developments. Keenly attuned to how open spaces can add to the quality of civic life, Tara’s role is to help clients achieve their goals with sound planning. Having grown up in multiple places across the United States, Tara is a passionate student of human nature, which serves her well as a community engagement specialist. After coming to OJB to lead the emerging discipline of urban management and placemaking, Tara is a key liaison between design, programming, brand management, and operational success. She also established the Dallas office, where she now leads a staff of 10. Currently, Tara is leading the development of program ideas for the transformation of downtown Kansas City in its highway deck capping project, Roy Blunt Luminary Park. Additionally, she is working on several large urban park projects, including Camden Park in Houston, Linn Park in Birmingham, Alabama, and Downtown Cary Park in North Carolina. The range of her expertise extends to other hybrid campuses and public use spaces, including Aggie Park at Texas A&M University and the 72-acre The RiverFront uniting three parks under one identity and bringing downtown Omaha to the river’s edge. Tara joined OJB in 2018 after 25 years of working in leaderships positions in the sports and entertainment industry. She earned a Master of Sports Administration from Ohio University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
