Pamela Herbst

Biography: January 2021 Pamela J. Herbst is an Executive Managing Director and member of AEW's Investment and Risk Management Committees. Pam retired as the Head of AEW’s Direct Investment Group at 12/31/20 after 30+ years. In this role, Pam was responsible for all of the firm’s investment management activities on behalf of core and value-added clients with total assets under management of $32 Billion. In this capacity, Pam was responsible for new acquisitions totaling approximately $2 billion(equity)/year. Pam served on all of the firm's committees including its Management, Investment, Risk Management, E,S & G and D,E and I. Over her 36 year career, Pam served in a variety of roles that have encompassed asset management, portfolio management and acquisitions. In addition to holding a number of industry certifications, she is former Chair and Board member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers (NAREIM), past Treasurer of the Executive Committee and a member of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Association of Office and Industrial Parks (NAIOP), an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) where she served as a Trustee, a member on the Awards for Excellence Committee, a council chair, and on their Investment Committee. Pam is active on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Massachusetts Bay and the Merrimack Valley, where she serves as the Chair of their Real Estate and Administration and Finance Committees and served on their Investment Committee. She also served as Chair and Vice Chair of the Board and Chair of the Real Estate Committee for The Home for Little Wanderers, the oldest family service organization in the U.S., Ms. Herbst is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts (B.A.) and Boston University (M.B.A.).
