Ko Iwahori

Biography: Ko co-founded Acadia Capital Limited in May 2019 in partnership with a Hong Kong based family office with a team and partners in Hong Kong, Singapore, Melbourne and Tokyo. Acadia Capital provides real estate investment advisory services across Asia Pacific including Australia for institutional clients, from core to opportunistic including development in both equity and debt opportunities. Ko has over 30 years of experience in commercial real estate, having served various senior roles with Mitsubishi Estate Company (MEC). His areas of expertise include capital markets, fund management, fund equity raise, property acquisition, disposition and development. Most recently, he was a Deputy General Manager of Investment Management Businesses where he was responsible for investor relationship and business development of Mitsubishi Jisho Investment Advisors (MJIA), a Tokyo based core property fund manager and TA Realty, a Boston based value add property fund manager. He previously served as Group General Manager, Cross Border Investment Advisory at Mitsubishi Real Estate Services, a Tokyo based brokerage arm and 100% owned subsidiary of MEC, providing investment advisory services to multinational companies and fund managers investing to and from Japan, the US, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and mainland China. Ko holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA from Waseda University. He was a sole recipient of MEC's full scholarship to pursue MBA for the subject year. In 1992, Ko successfully completed the Uniform CPA exam in California. He is a Government of Tokyo licensed real estate agent and an ARES certified Master in asset securitization. Ko is an active member of ULI, having served on the APAC Awards for Excellence Jury (2020 to 2023) and was Co-chair of the Jury (2023), and is leading UrbanPlan program (2018 to date) in partnership with AIA Japan leadership as well as faculties of Japan's and Korea's leading universities including Tsukuba, Waseda, Meiji, Nihon and KAIST.
