Jenni Morejon
Biography: Jenni Morejon is the President & CEO of the Fort Lauderdale Downtown Development Authority, a public/private partnership that promotes growth, investment, and improvements in the urban core of Fort Lauderdale (the geographic center of the SE Florida region of six million). At the DDA, Jenni has led efforts to secure funding for a new Federal Courthouse in coordination with the GSA, initiate development of a new joint City/County government campus, and implement capital projects to improve downtown parks, streets, and public places. Prior to the DDA, Jenni served as director for the City of Fort Lauderdale’s development services department during her 16-year tenure with the City. She led a team responsible for urban planning, economic development, housing programs, code compliance and building permits during the post-recession development boom. More than $3 billion of development was under construction, approved or in the planning stages while she led a team of 185 staff with a total budget of $35 million. Jenni sits on the Management Committee for the ULI Southeast Florida/Caribbean District Council, served as Chair of the Women’s Leadership Initiative Committee from 2017-2020, and is a member of the Public Private Partnership Gold Product Council. She is on the Board of Directors for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce and a graduate of Leadership Fort Lauderdale and the Women Leading Broward program. Jenni graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in Environmental Design.
