Jon Pickard
Biography: Jon Pickard has been recognized internationally for his achievements in design. He has collaborated with a broad range of major corporations, leading developers and architects on a global scale. Since the firm's founding in 1997, projects representing close to $1 billion dollars of construction value have been completed or are currently in design. After a national selection process, Pickard Chilton was awarded the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) Headquarters expansion in downtown Sacramento, California and is currently designing Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, one of the largest hospital redevelopment projects in the United States. The firm has also completed Wachovia Park, the new headquarters building for Wachovia Bank, Winston-Salem, North Carolina; The Pinnacle, a twenty-five story office tower in Atlanta which is the southeastern headquarters for Merrill Lynch, Paine Weber, and Morgan Stanley; and the 24th & Camelback office complex in Phoenix. Prior to Pickard Chilton, he collaborated eighteen years with Cesar Pelli & Associates on landmark projects including two of the largest commercial development ever built: The World Financial Center, an eight million square foot commercial office and retail complex in New York, and Kuala Lumpur City Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, a nine million square foot development which includes the Dewan Philharmonic, Malaysia's national symphony hall and the tallest building in the world, The Petronas Towers. He graduated with honors from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture in 1976 and received his masters from the Yale School of Architecture. Iowa State University recognized him in 1989 with the Design Achievement Award for distinguished contributions to the arts.
