Senior Master Planner

Biography:

Rob Palmer, a certified urban planner and transportation/logistics professional with more than 38 years of planning experience, is a recognized professional in leading multi-party and interdisciplinary planning initiatives, program development, infrastructure projects, and public participation/outreach. His project work includes theme park and resort master plans in Florida, France, Japan, Ireland & Washington, DC. He is a former Chair for the ULI North Florida District Council that covers 34 counties from St Augustine to Pensacola. Rob served on ULI’s Advisory Services Panel for the Mayors Bring Back New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina and ULI’s Infrastructure Initiative National Expert Panel. In 2018, he served on ULI's Advisory Services Panel for the Ford Motor Company's autonomous vehicle campus in Detroit MI. Rob was a founding member of the Environmental & Economic Consensus Committee in Tallahassee Florida and served as principal author for the Blueprint 2000…and Beyond report that served as the foundation for a $800m sales tax extension referendum. Blueprint 2000, passed in November 2000 has developed major transportation infrastructure projects and acquired sensitive environmental lands in Leon County, and has been extended through approved referendums. He served as Co-chair to the Reality Check First Coast regional visioning initiative conducted in May 2009 for seven Northeastern Florida counties and included a fund-raising campaign of over $400,000 of public and private donors. Rob served as the Projects Director for the ten-county regional organization, Our Region Tomorrow, Inc based in Tallahassee. Currently, he is a Senior Master Planner with Walt Disney Imagineering, specializing in advanced mobility and future resort projects. Rob is a native Floridian, raised in Jacksonville, has been married for 39 years to Kellie Guy Palmer with two children, a daughter who graduated from High Point University in Marketing and a son from University of North Florida (UNF) in Certified Transportation & Logistics (CTL).
