Scott Williams
Biography: Scott graduated from Texas A&M University in 1987. Working for the City of Plano for 7 years, Scott served in the capacity of Plans Examiner and Code Analyst/Chief Plans Examiner. While at the City of Plano, Scott oversaw the plan review and code administration of among others, the J.C. Penney Headquarters Building, Electronic Data Systems Headquarters, and Frito Lay Headquarters. During this time, his department was issuing permits for upwards of 300 houses per month. Scott has been with the City of Grapevine since 1995, beginning as Building Official, then Assistant Director of Development Services/Building Official. In June 2007 Scott became Director of the Development Services Department. Scott's organization has overseen the planning and inspection of many notable projects, including Grapevine Mills Mall, Bass Pro Shops, Embassy Suites Hotel, Gaylord Texan Hotel and Resort, and Great Wolf Lodge Resort. Scott sits on two North Texas Council of Governments Committees, and is a member of the Building Officials Association of Texas and the International Code Council. Scott is a State of Texas licensed Code Enforcement Officer, a State licensed Plumbing inspector, and is certified through the International Code Council as a Plans Examiner, Mechanical Inspector, and Building Official.
