Biographie:
Uwe S. Brandes has over 25 years of experience in the planning, design and construction of new buildings, public infrastructure and the urban landscape. He is founding director of the Urban and Regional Planning Program at Georgetown University and principal of Brandes Partners LLP, an urban development strategy practice. From 2007 to 2013 he served as Senior Vice President of the Urban Land Institute where he oversaw international programming and research on sustainable urban development including the creation of ULI’s climate change program. Prior to ULI, he was managing director of the multi-agency Anacostia Waterfront Initiative in the District of Columbia during which time over $3 billion of public and private investments was made during his eight-year tenure. Brandes is engaged in advisory activities to public, private and non-profit organizations around the world. He is the author of The City in 2050: Creating Blueprints for Change and What's Next? Real Estate in the New Economy and numerous articles and reports on sustainability and urban development. He has been quoted by the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Washington Post, Wired and many industry publications.
