Bryan Southergill

Biographie : Bryan Southergill is a Partner at Ares Management, based in Hong Kong. Prior to joining Ares in 2022, Bryan was a Managing Director in the Real Estate vertical at KKR, based in Hong Kong, where he set up the Asia real estate equity and credit investing businesses, led Asia real estate acquisitions and was responsible for advancing KKR's Asia real estate investment strategy. He was also a member of KKR's Asia Real Estate Investment Committee, Asia Real Estate Portfolio Management Committee and India Real Estate Non-Bank Finance Company Investment Committee. Previously, Bryan was Managing Director and Head of Asia Real Estate Investing in the Global Special Opportunities Group at J.P. Morgan, where he led its proprietary, special situations, real estate investing business in Asia. He invested J.P. Morgan's balance sheet capital in opportunistic real estate transactions involving senior/subordinated debt, CBs, bonds + warrants, preferred equity and equity in both property companies and hard assets. In addition, Bryan spent the first decade of his career at Morgan Stanley, based in New York, London and Hong Kong, with responsibility for both real estate investments and corporate finance advisory mandates in the United States, Europe and Asia. He executed Morgan Stanley's first real estate investments in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Singapore and Thailand and was a director of many Morgan Stanley Real Estate entities, including the AIM-listed Songbird Estates (Canary Wharf) in London. Bryan currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Urban Land Institute's Asia Pacific Capital Markets Council and Co-Chair of the Real Estate Committee for the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. Bryan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from Amherst College, where he graduated magna cum laude.
