Biography:
Jim Goodell Goodell Brackenbush Institutional Development Partners Jim Goodell is President of Public Private Ventures, Inc, (PPV), providing real estate, planning, development and project management services to public and institutional clients. The companies provide a full continuum of development services, including strategic planning, deal structuring, development management, and strategic alliances with financial and production partners. Goodell is structuring and playing an active role in the development of university and related facilities, including student and faculty housing, university-related research and technology parks, and core university facilities. Over the past several years, PPV has acquired 12 new campus properties for California community colleges -- all at significantly discounted prices, and several as donations. Jim's 40 year career began after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania with Masters Degrees with honors in Architecture and City Planning. His early career focused in the redevelopment of urban areas, where he was principal author and development advisor for many Southern California's most successful redevelopment efforts, including Old Pasadena, Los Angeles Wholesale Produce Market, Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, and the Burbank Media District. He has been a key advisor to the State of California and local governmental agencies in developing and implementing proactive asset developmental programs, with lead responsibility for the disposition of over $3 billion in public real estate assets. He has developed numerous small scale commercial and residential projects for his own account and has served as fee developer on numerous large scale development projects, including Carillon Point in the Seattle area. Jim has been an active member of ULI since 1985, serving as Trustee from 1995 to 2001. He has served as the founding Chairman of the Los Angeles District Council from 1990 to 1995, and served as Trustee chair of ULI's first national District Council Advisory Committee from 2006 to 2001. has served as Chairman and member of numerous Advisory Service Panels, and has served on many committees over the years.
