Biography: Jean V. Kane CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER Minneapolis-St. Paul Being the CEO of one of the largest commercial real estate firms in the Twin Cities is not something that Jean Kane takes lightly. As an industry leader and integral member of the commercial real estate sector, Jean has a reputation for listening, providing straightforward counsel, and executing and delivering results. A key contributor to Welsh since 1987, Jean embodies the entrepreneurial spirit and core values upon which our company was built: integrity, excellence, teamwork, and innovation. Through hands-on leadership, she actively oversees and influences the operations of the company’s real estate services, including; Brokerage, Real Estate Management, Architecture, Facility Services (operating as Colliers International | Minneapolis-St. Paul), and Construction. Jean leads the team in achieving the objectives of the company and our clients by fostering a results-orientated culture that encourages creative thinking. She has been vigilant about upholding the commitment to excellence that made our company what it is today. Refusing to sit behind a desk all day, Jean actively engages with employees to determine company-wide initiatives that will increase Welsh and Colliers’ success for years to come. During her tenure, Welsh and Colliers earned certification as a woman-owned business by WBENC, which helped clients fulfill their supplier diversity programs with targeted group businesses and disadvantaged business enterprises. Under her leadership, Welsh and Colliers thrive and has grown to a 300-employee firm, recognized as a top commercial real estate provider throughout the Midwest. Jean has been instrumental in supporting company initiatives to create best-in-class solutions, not only for clients, but also for the company’s employees and brokers. As a result, Welsh has been named a top workplace in the Twin Cities by both the Star Tribune and the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. Active in the business community for nearly 30 years, Jean’s local influence extends to a national level. She is a member of NAIOP’s distinguished National Executive Committee, has recently been honored in Midwest Real Estate News’ Hall of Fame, has been named among the ‘200 Minnesotans You Should Know’ by Twin Cities Business Magazine, and recently completed her tenure as the 2014 National NAIOP Executive Chairman. Jean currently serves on several executive committees for various local and national business associations and is committed to working with other corporate and community leaders to cultivate economic growth in the Twin Cities and throughout Minnesota. She has been a featured speaker and panelist at events across the country, sharing her insights and unique perspective on the industry with other professionals.
