Kabi Subramaniam
Biography: Kabi is a chartered engineer with over 20 years as a specialist in existing assets. As the leader of the Asset Services Team, he is responsible for steering the team’s business direction and retrofit and adaptive reuse projects. With a passion on conserving and extending the life of ageing assets, Kabi is very focused on Asset and Portfolio Decarbonisation projects across South East Asia. Kabi’s project management skills have enabled him to deliver major work from concept through to the construction of new build projects in Singapore and internationally. He has collaborated with renowned architects on complex façade systems to complement the ever-demanding architecture. He is a strong advocate of a risk-based approach to the assessment and maintenance of existing building façades and had successfully implemented it for several major clients across Australian cities. Having focused a major part of his career on existing Assets, Kabi now focuses on Asset Enhancement, where he helps client’s future-proof their businesses with long-term operation plans. This includes not only asset/ portfolio decarbonisation and climate resilience but working with several key developers, on retrofitting and repurposing existing asset. With a keen interest in digital technology, Kabi is recognised for spearheading initiatives aimed at the use of digital tools to automate processes including the use of drones for remote asset inspections and digital reporting, allowing data to be centralised and analysed remotely. He continues to present at various conferences where has has shared his insights on existing assets, the tools to conduct portfolio assessment in prioritizing decarbonization and different pathways to decarbonise assets.
