Gary Wishnow
Biography: With over a decade of experience in senior leadership roles, I specialize in transforming complex real estate and hospitality projects into high-traffic, profitable spaces that drive long-term business growth. As a seasoned operations executive, I’ve built a reputation for turning visionary concepts into successful, community-driven destinations—whether it’s creating iconic food halls, managing large-scale developments, or providing strategic consulting for industry leaders and emerging startups. Currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Local Culture Management, I have led some of the U.S.'s most renowned food hall developments, including Dekalb Market Hall in Brooklyn—one of the largest and most profitable food halls in the country. During my time, Dekalb Market Hall generated $28M in annual revenue and attracted over 30,000 visitors daily, all while managing 40+ vendors and ensuring operational excellence. Additionally, I played a pivotal role in shaping The Hugh at Citicorp Towers in New York City, transforming it into a thriving hub featuring 16 restaurants, an outdoor beer garden, and a speakeasy. Before transitioning to real estate and hospitality, I spent 16 years working in institutional derivatives, where I gained valuable insights into financial markets, risk management, and complex financial products. This experience has provided me with a strong foundation in financial strategy, analysis, and forecasting, which I apply today to ensure the fiscal health and profitability of every project I oversee. Whether managing multimillion-dollar development budgets or negotiating vendor contracts, I leverage this financial expertise to drive successful outcomes and ensure project stability. Throughout my career, I have consistently delivered results by combining operational expertise, business development insights, and a keen understanding of financial management. I bring a strategic, hands-on approach to consulting, guiding clients through the complexities of large-scale project execution, financial oversight, vendor negotiations, and facility management. I am passionate about creating environments that not only meet business objectives but also foster vibrant, engaged communities. As I continue to expand my consulting practice, I work closely with developers, investors, and entrepreneurs to help them navigate every stage of project development—from conceptualization to operational management. Whether you're looking to launch a new food hall, revitalize an existing property, or optimize operational performance, I offer tailored solutions that ensure sustainable growth, profitability, and community impact.
