James Gray
Biography: James D. Gray President and Owner of Bridgewood Property Company and The Aspenwood Company. An awarded scholar and successful businessman, James D. Gray has accomplished many achievements throughout his career. He began as a student at Washington and Lee University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting in 1979. He belonged to a variety of organizations including Phi Beta Kappa, Beta Gamma Sigma and earned the Virginia Society of CPA's Award of Achievement. Continuing his studies, he graduated with an M.B.A. from the University of Texas and was given the Deans Award, Sord Scholar and belonged to Phi Kappa Phi. As a professional, he started at the Republic National Bank. He worked for Trammell Crow Company, first as a project manager for the Houston, Texas Division and then as a Managing Director and Divisional Partner for the Houston Industrial Division. As a Principal for Cypress Realty, Inc., Mr. Gray was in charge of investigating and managing developmental investment opportunities, including multi-family, retail and industrial properties. James Gray was later President of Cypress Senior Living; a private real estate investment trust focused on the development of retirement communities for active independent seniors. Upon departing Cores Senior Living, Mr. Gray formed Bridgewood Property Company and The Aspenwood Company to solely focused on development and operations of senior living communities in Texas and the Southeast. Current portfolio holdings are in excess of 3500 units of senior housings amongst 35 communities.
