Biography:
Nicholas Lalla Analyst to the CEO & Chief Content Officer ULI – the Urban Land Institute Washington, DC Nicholas Lalla is the Analyst to the CEO and Chief Content Officer at the Urban Land Institute. There, he provides data-driven guidance to the executive leadership on a range of strategic planning issues. Working at the intersection of analysis and communications, he conducts feasibility studies, measures impact, creates presentations for various audiences, and helps design and implement programs that foster sustainable communities. Mr. Lalla previously worked at ULI's Rose Center for Public Leadership, where he researched and analyzed candidates for a fellowship program that provides U.S. mayors with technical assistance on a local land use development challenge. Before joining ULI, he conducted applied policy research and analysis for New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu. Notably, he helped design an innovative program that builds federal, philanthropic, and private-sector partners to help solve policy challenges such as workforce development, education, and healthcare. After completing his undergraduate studies at Northwestern University and a certificate from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, Mr. Lalla was awarded a Sage Fellowship to Cornell University and earned a master’s degree in African and African American Studies. His interdisciplinary urban affairs research focused on post-Katrina revitalization and its impact on minority communities.
